By Louis Such
Matt Wright is an upcoming artist who has risen in popularity in recent years. His career was kick-started after supporting Son Of Duke at their Shepherd’s Bush Empire gig. Following that he toured parts of the country and released his debut album ‘Darker Than Light (Special Edition)’ in 2008.
Since starting out, Matt has constantly worked to define himself as an artist. His recent releases combined the pop and dance genres perfectly and have been hits with fans. Matt’s songs ‘OMT’ and ‘Take Me Somewhere’ gained over 200,000 views on TikTok and have both received airplay on BBC radio stations.
Following a year of hard work, determination and reflection, Matt is back once more with his new single ‘Heartbreaker’!
‘Heartbreaker’ is a song that is both personable and relatable to many, due to the fact that it was written by Matt himself after a break-up. With this in mind, it also explains why the meaning behind the lyrics are not lost to the old-school dance melodies.
The song has received positive reviews on social media and has received its first radio play today on BBC Music Introducing…Sussex & Surrey.
Matt has also released an official music video for the single, which features Ollie King from the BBC Three show ‘I Kissed A Boy’.
